Turn your paper golf scorecard into a saved round

Turn a paper golf scorecard into a saved round with Par Pocket. Photograph your card, review the recognised scores and keep your golf history together.

Played on paper? Keep the round

You do not have to score on your phone to keep a digital golf history. Par Pocket’s golf scorecard scanner starts with a photograph of your paper card. It recognises the written scores, then gives you a chance to check them before creating the saved round. Keep the card in your pocket during play and bring the result into Par Pocket afterwards.

1. Photograph the whole scorecard

Open Scan a scorecard and use the photo options offered by your device. Lay the card flat, include the hole numbers and score row, and use even light. Avoid glare, shadows and a steep angle. A clear image makes the review easier, especially when handwriting is small or the card has several players’ rows.

2. Review the recognised scores

Select the relevant player row when the import offers a choice. Check the hole-by-hole values against your paper card, including any blank or unclear boxes. Recognition can make mistakes: a handwritten 5 might be read as another number. Correct the value before confirming it. The review step is part of the import, rather than an assumption that every photo is accurate.

3. Confirm and save your round

Review the course, tee and round details offered in the import, then confirm the scores you want to keep. If only part of the round is recorded, save it as a partial round rather than filling the missing holes with invented scores. Fully scored rounds can contribute to complete-round comparisons; partial rounds remain clearly identified.

What happens to the saved scorecard?

Return to the round to review its scorecard, add a note or create a share card for your mates. Your history and stats use the information you confirmed. A scorecard containing strokes alone cannot supply unrecorded putting, fairway or green statistics. Optional account backup can keep completed rounds online when the service is available; you can also export a portable backup.

Can every card be read perfectly?

No. Handwriting, card layouts, lighting and device support can affect recognition. If the photo is difficult to read, take another image or correct the scores manually in the review. Par Pocket does not promise perfect recognition, submit a score to your golf club, or turn a scanned card into an official handicap. You decide what is saved.
